“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Cor. 9:6-8).
This passage forms the basis for New Testament giving. God is mostly concerned with how we give. He wants us to give with a cheerful and thankful heart not by force or compulsion. We ask that you not give if you are giving “grudgingly or of necessity” but please give if it is your desire to do so.
Furthermore, please do not give to this ministry if you are not a believer. First, place your trust in Christ alone for the salvation of your soul and then commit to growing in the knowledge of Him through the Word of God. As you “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 3:18), you will want to give to God’s work of making disciples of Christ. It also should be understood that you cannot earn salvation through financial giving, it is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone that we are saved, not by any good works that we have done, either before or after the point of conversion.
Finally, if you are not a member or regular attender of East Friesland New Covenant Church and are still blessed by this ministry resulting in a desire to give to it, we would ask that you give first to support your own home church. After giving to your own local church, or if you do not have a church home of your own, we welcome your financial giving to East Friesland New Covenant Church.
